Do I have to replace all the knob and tube wiring?

Yes, if you want your home to be fully insured and safe. While it is sometimes possible to splice new wire onto old K&T, it is highly discouraged, poses a fire risk, and most insurance companies will still deny coverage if any active K&T remains.

Will rewiring my house destroy my walls and ceilings?

No. We specialize in minimally invasive rewiring. By using advanced wire fishing techniques through basements and attics, we can often rewire entire rooms with only a few small holes. We treat your home with respect and clean up thoroughly.

How long does a complete home rewire take?

It depends on the size of the home and access to the walls (e.g., unfinished basements and accessible attics make it much faster). Typically, a full knob and tube removal and rewire takes between 1 to 3 weeks. We will give you a firm timeline during our assessment.

Do I also need a panel upgrade?

Often, yes. Homes with knob and tube wiring frequently still have outdated 60-amp services or old fuse boxes. To support modern appliances and meet current codes, upgrading to a 100-amp or 200-amp breaker panel is usually necessary and done at the same time.
